Back up your messages
- Open WhatsApp on your phone and hit settings
- Hit Chats from the list and tap Chat Backup
- Check ‘Include Videos’
- Tap "Back Up" to back up your WhatsApp conversations and media to Google Drive.
Restore the backup to your new phone
- Install and open WhatsApp on your new phone
- Read the Terms and Conditions and tap "Agree And Continue".
- Verify your country and phone number.
- Tap Continue to allow WhatsApp access to your Google Drive backup.

Create a local backup
1.Open WhatsApp on your phone and hit settings
2. Hit Chats from the list and tap Chat Backup
3. Ignore the Google Drive backup prompt
4. You now have a local backup in your phones internal storage
How to transfer WhatsApp data from iPhone to Android
On your iPhone
- Open WhatsApp app on your iphone and swipe left on the chat that you wish to export.
- Tap on More in the menu and select Export Chat.
- From the Share menu, choose the Mail option.
- Enter the email address that you will have access to when on your Android phone. Tap Send.
On your Android
- Open the email on your android and download the chat file attached.
- This process needs to be done for each chat that you need to transfer from your iPhone to Android.
