Are EA servers down? Electronic Arts outage stops gamers playing Fifa or Battlefield | The Sun
EA servers have crashed today, leaving FIFA 23 players unable to play online.
The outage unfortunately doesn't appear to be the result of planned maintenance work.
Why has FIFA 23 gone down?
EA Sports, which makes the FIFA games, has not made a statement regarding the outage.
Older versions of the game went dark on Friday (March 10) for planned maintenance.
When game-makers make major improvements to their services, they frequently shut down servers for a few hours to make the changes.
The tactic is regularly employed by FIFA as well as Fortnite-maker Epic Games.
EA said that it expects the scheduled maintenance to last from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. UK time (2 a.m. to 5 a.m. EST).

When did FIFA 23 go down?
Fans of FIFA 23 are unable to play the game this afternoon.
The popular football simulator went down around 12:00 p.m. GMT, according to online outage trackers.
Reports on social media suggest that the downtime is leaving players unable to connect to online features.
Screenshots shared online show an error message that appears when people attempt to connect to the online multiplayer mode.
Players are being met with a pop up warning, saying: "You lost your connection to the EA servers. Sign back in to access online features."
Hundreds of people have reported the problem to the website DownDetector, which monitors online outages.
Half of those reports point the finger at server issues, while 78% cent of complaints are related to the game's server connection.
Frustrated FIFA fans took to Twitter to bemoan the unexpected outage.
One person tweeted a screenshot of the error message with the caption: "Of course EA servers are down. The missus is at work for a 24 hour shift, the kids have just been dropped off at school. Heaven forbid I should finally be able to play some FIFA."
